The United States and the kurdish People’s Protection Units signed a partnership agreement

Various kurdish sources are reporting about an agreement between the United States and the kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG). This agreement reportedly includes military aspects and also details about the life and future of Rojava/Northern Syria. The main points of the agreement between the US and the YPG are:

  1. The US and YPG are partners and allies in the fight against terrorism in the region
  2. The US will support the YPG with military equipment
  3. The US will support the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to build a fully operative army for Rojava
  4. The YPG will ensure to remain in the SDF and to remain a permanent partner in the fight against terrorism
  5. The YPG will ensure to prevent attacks towards neighbouring countries from Rojava
  6. The YPG will ensure the security of US Military personnel and US Bases in Rojava

The agreement is valid after 15th July 2017.

    3. “The US will support the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to build a fully operative army for Rojava” is unlikely. SDF is to Syrian Democratic Council as YPG is to Rojava. You’d expect YPG, SDF and US to get the phrasing correct, at least.

    US and its Kurdish terrorist alliance will be buried in Syria and Iraq. The US is playing with fire and it will get burned very badly.
    The Arab world will not support a super Kurdish state in the region that will be a threat to the entire region. Russia will not support
    a Kurdish state that will be aligned with NATO and US hegemony.
